New In | Simply Be

I had to put a post together to show you girls some of the treats Simply Be have recently dropped on their site.

There are so many on-trend items I can't even cope. The 70s trend is still going strong and I just love all these suede pieces! My fave being the lilac jacket and that fabulous jacket with for fur trim! I need want them badly.

Click on the bits you like and it'll take you directly to the site.

Anything you particularly like or are these pieces really not your thing?

Let's get Trenched

It's no secret that I love bright/in your face outfits. I also love to mix things up a bit and try more casual/classic looks as well.

This Trench Coat from plus size brand, Elvi is the sort of staple piece everyone should have in their wardrobe. You can dress it down like I have in today's post or you can go glam and team it with some ridiculously high heels and a fitted dress.

I have only recently tried garments from Elvi and I have so far been very impressed. I live in my Tropical Print Top as it's so easy to throw on with some leggings and I have their gorgeous khaki Maxi Skirt waiting for me in my wardrobe. I like their attention to detail; the trench has all the classic style features like shoulder epaulets and gun flap on the front chest area. I sized up to a 22 in this style as I tried the 20 and found it was a little too tight on my upper arms. I don't normally have issues with my upper arms so bare that in mind if this is something you sometimes struggle with.

Shadey

Five lust-have shades I'm currently drooling over.

This weekend I am off on my summer holiday's and it's made me realise that I have some how acquired a 'thing' for sunglasses. If I had like loads of spare dollar and I didn't need to wear prescription shades; these are the five I would squirrel away in my suitcase.

Return of the Mac

So it's the beginning of the July and it should be the height of summer. We should all be lounging in parks, having bbq's and drowning ourselves in Pimms and Aperol but alas; it's the beginning of July and it's raining a lot, it's muggy and the sun seems to have disappeared.

Enter the need for a summer-time cover up that isn't bulky but still means you're covered and not exposed to the "elements". In the last few weeks, the launch of Phase Eight's plus size range, Studio 8 has been picking up momentum and after seeing some of the launch pieces in real life at their press day; it's great to see the site up and running and to be able to get my hands on some of their luxe pieces. Phase Eight is renowned for their sophisticated pieces, their attention to detail and great quality and they have some of the best occasion wear on the High Street - it's now time for us plus size gals to wear their premium and stylish clothing.

This beautiful Mac, is undeniably chic looking and it is such a good cross between a casual water fall jacket and a more structured, classic trench coat. With regards to the sizing, I would recommend picking your usual size or even sizing down as the coat comes up a little big. Give me brights and prints any day but I also love switching things up and sometimes I crave a neutral palette, I love the tone of this grey coat. I've got to admit, I felt kinda special in this outfit.

As much as I love my more quirky or casual outfits, I love dressing up and feeling like a slightly more sophisticated version of myself and I think this outfit is doing just that for me. The culotte jumpsuit is a totally different shape for me. I've never worn anything like it before but you know what? I love it! I like that it nips me in at the waist, shows off a little cleavage and the length is perfect for me as I like to wear things that fall just below the knee. In regards to fit, as with all New Look items, I have had to size up to a 24, even though I usually wear a size 20 so bare that in mind if you fancy buying one. The waist is elasticated so there is a lot of stretch in the jumpsuit.

What I'm wearing:

Mac - Studio 8
Jumpsuit - New Look Inspire via ASOS
Silver Heels - old New Look similar here
Bag - old H&M similar here
Earrings - old New Look similar here

Have a peek at what Studio 8 are up to and let me know what you guys think. Anything they are missing or could improve on?

Denim For Days [10 Plus Size Denim Picks]

In the past the only plus size friendly denim you could find was the odd pair of ill fitting jeans and if you were lucky a really shoddy denim jacket. Today, I still personally find it really hard to find a pair of jeans that fit well but luckily for me I can still get my denim fix because so many brands now do amazingggg denim pieces.

I've put a little selection together below and I think you'll agree; things are really coming along nicely for us plus size ladies. It's refreshing to see that we now have access to some of the same shapes available to our skinnier pals. Click on the garment you like and it'll take you directly to the correct shop.

What do you guys think about these denim pieces? Are you as happy as I am that we now have lots of denim to choose from or do you still shy away from this structured fabric?

Wedding Bells

Wedding season is upon us and normally when invited to such events; I make sure I have an outfit ready weeks and weeks before. George, who you will know from Fuller Figure Fuller Bust invited me to her wedding and I kid you not, I didn't have an outfit sorted until the day before! Talk about cutting it fine!

Linea at House of Fraser came to the rescue because during one of my last ditch attempts to find a dress; I stumbled upon this lovely floral dress. I went with my usual size and you can imagine the joy when I put it on and it fit perfectly. The dress has no stretch to it and is a thick cotton so bare that in mind if you fancy ordering it (the dress currently seems to be out of stock in a lot of sizes but keep checking back).

Callie took these lovely outfit shots for me at the end of the day and I did notice that by the afternoon the dress had lost a bit of it's shape but no one else would have noticed; I'm just fussy about those sorts of things.

Due to only recieving the dress the day before the wedding I was limited to what accessories I could use but I am glad that I already had items that matched the dress well. I went with my old New Look blue heels, old ASOS suede clutch and old Topshop bangle.

George's wedding was so, so beautiful. George and Robbie put so much effort into the day and you could tell, it was a seamless affair and I can't get over how beautiful the venue was. George looked stunning, as did my blogger babes Callie and Bethany and to George and Robbie; I wish you a life long marriage filled with love, good health and happiness!

Introducing Black Widow | White Lies - Carmakoma AW15

It's baking hot here in London at the moment but that hasn't stopped me from drooling over AW15 pieces when they drop into my inbox. It's always tricky trying to imagine what you'll fancy wearing when it comes to a completely different season but I love making a mental note of whats going to be available and then when it drops online or in store I'm always happy I did a bit of pre planning.

Carmakoma continue to be one of my favourite plus size brands. They offer quality, on trend pieces and yes, I'm not going to sugar coat things they are on the more pricey end of the spectrum BUT that's what we need! We need quality, luxury items just as much as we need fast fashion. We need choice and thankfully with brands like Carmakoma; we now have that! Hurray!

Here's a little sneak peek, (before they publish it on their on their website) at what we can expect this Autumn. I love the mix of super feminine and androgynous looks and as ever their attention to detail with features such as lace and faux fur mean that their should be something for everyone come winter. The white tailored 'Peacham' jacket worn over the 'Clapham' dress is giving me Clueless + Chanel vibes and I'm digging it!

I'm loving the tone on tone double denim! So 90s...

I spy with my little eye - a real leather moto jacket                                                                         All images c/o Carmakoma

What do you think ladies? Have you spotted anything you like the look of?
