Cosy Days

I've not been very well recently and it's a shame because since I've dyed my hair; I've not had the chance to go out and about and show it off! Today was the first day I ventured outside and my outfit needed to be comfortable. I love dressing up and wearing fashion forward outfits but sometimes you just need to be cosy and it's nice to take a more laid back approach to dressing sometimes.

Enter this shearling gilet by Elvi. Doesn't it just look so inviting and snuggly? I was so warm even though its a sleeveless jacket and I love the relaxed vibe of this whole look. I seem to have acquired a slight addiction to breton stripes and I'm digging the mix of tan, stripes, denim and shearling here. I can see myself living in this gilet this autumn.

I'm also excited to show you these pictures as I have collaborated with a fabulous photographer called Catherine and I am excited for all the fab images we are going to produce together in the future. Watch this space!

They need a hero

I think that supporting independant brands is really important and especially ones that provide us plus size girls with snazzy, sassy, sequin-tastic clothes!

Isolated Heros, as you have probably noticed over the years is one of my all time fave shops. Everything is handmade in their tiny studio in Scotland and each sequin is sewed on with love. I have so many of their pieces I practically need a wardrobe just for their stuff and I can't wait to grow my personal collection as they bring out future ranges.

Isolated Heros NEED YOU. They have launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise 5K so that they can expand their manufacturing capabilities. This means that they could expand their incredible plus size range, add in more sizes (YEY), and stock would be more readily available to send out quicker.

Please take 5 mins to watch their kickstarter video below and if you have any spare cash; send it their way. They have fabulous rewards for you no matter what you donate and you could get one of these fab sequin tears dresses if you donate £50... they normally retail at £125.

Watch the video below:

You can pledge to the campaign HERE....

Halloween Accessories Wishlist

Halloween is fast approaching and I've put together a little wishlist of all things spooky that'll help you accessorise your fancy dress outfit.

I love dressing up and some years I go ALL OUT for Halloween (like the time I went as Edward Scissor hands... nope, no pictures I'm afraid...none at all) but then on other occasions I tend to go for a bit more of a paired down look and just wear all black with killer heels and a splashing of fake blood. This year I think I'm going to go for the second option and I'm definitely going to be picking up some of these bits.

Simply click on the item you like and it'll take you directly to the correct website. Happy Halloween, Guys!

Do you celebrate Halloween? If you do; what outfit are you going for this year?

Suede Dreams

I'm so excited that this suede dress is finally available online! I was lucky enough to try a few pieces from the AW15 ASOS Curve range back in the summer and I have been waiting and waiting to see it appear on the site. I was worried when they sent it to me that a 22 wouldn't fit; normally fitted shift dresses can be a problem for me and I have to size up but this was spot on. I love the thickness of the fabric and the simple shape of the dress. The different patches and autumnal colours give this dress the perfect 70s twist and by adding a thin polo neck and thick tights I think this is the perfect way to style up this dreamy suede number. My lipstick is called Chili by MAC and it was made for this outfit!

Lady Luck

I am forever in brightly coloured, printed clothing but sometimes all you want is that show stopper Little Black Dress. I actually really struggle to find the perfect LBD, I'm not sure why but I guess I'm really picky and I also find that plain black clothing tends to show up every one of my lumps and bumps. When I find one that I love, I wear it to death and I think that's going to happen with this dress.

The LBD is lovely on it's own but to take it to the next level I decided to style it with my gorgeous new black gilet with leather shoulders. If you tend to feel a little exposed when you wear sleeveless or strappy dresses; I can't recommend a jacket like this enough. Even though it is sleeveless it gives you the feeling you are a little more covered and it's super stylish to boot. I love the detail Elvi incorporate into their clothing - the leather shoulders, water fall front and the belt are all really nice touches. I think this gilet is perfect for a night out as you can just throw it on, it's very light weight and it's a really sophisticated style.

I also have to give a little shout out to my friend Felicity, who is a plus size model. She recently collaborated with Skinny Dip to produce this incredible Lady Luck bag and I am so happy that I am now in the possession of it! I love the flash or red and gold against my all black outfit.

Winter Maxi's

In the past I would have only worn a maxi dress in the warmer months. I'm not sure why but I associated them with summer, bare legs and floating around on holiday with a cocktail in my hand. My opinions on maxi lengths changed however, once I received this beautiful floral maxi dress a few months ago. I got the chance to try some ASOS Curve samples before they hit the shelves and as soon as I saw this dress I knew I wanted to give it an autumn/winter twist.

I styled the dress with a multi coloured faux fur scarf, some thick maroon coloured tights and ankle boots and it made me realise that a maxi dress isn't just for summer, but it's possible to wear them all year round. A tan suede jacket or even a biker jacket would look great worn over this dress for when it gets even colder.

Now this maxi dress is available online I'm so happy I can release these shots! I loved the deep plunging neckline and side splits - a little daring for me as I never really show much cleavage but I liked how sassy this dress made me feel!

Elvi | My new love

One of my favourite things about blogging is discovering new brands and then introducing them to you guys, my readers. Elvi has been around for a little while now but at first, I have to be honest, it just wasn't on my radar. After seeing their pieces appear on other blogs and on my time line; I was drawn to their site and fell for their trench coat which I blogged about earlier this year (here)

Oh how things can change! I am now completely obsessed with this brand and it is easily one of my favourite plus size retailers. The clothes are stylish and they style their models really well and the clothes are well made and affordable... I mean, just check out their beautiful new arrivals! The Feather Dress is absolutely incredible!

When I look at an item of clothing I like, on the website; it is very rare that I 100% love how its been styled. This was not the case for these wide leg palazzo trousers though. I fell in love with how they styled them and was so eager to see if the entire look would work well on my shorter, chubbier frame.

What do you guys think? Can I pull it off?
