Elvi Party pants

In the past if I was going to a party; I would have always chosen to wear a dress. It's simple, you can throw it on and it's pretty fuss free. I branched out recently and wore a pleather skirt and top to a party (see that outfit here) but I've gone one step further now... shock, horror I've donned some embellished party pants! Go me!

I've always shied away from trousers as I thought they made me feel a little 'dumpy' and I struggle with the fit around my tummy BUT these embellished trousers are gorgeous and a very welcome addition to my wardrobe. The elasticated waist band is a joy and I like the casual fit of them. Paired with heels and this super festive sequin bomber; I feel like this is a sport-luxe party look that'll make you stand out of the crowd when everyone else is in their party frocks.

Such a monki

It's no secret, I'm a HUGE Monki fan. It's by far my favourite place to browse as there are always so many gems in there suitable for plus size girls. I normally like to mix one of their pieces in with other brands when I build an outfit but with todays outfit; I really went for it!

The printed dress, velvet bomber and gold bag are all from Monki which is a store that doesn't stock "plus size" clothes but as you can see; they fit my plus sized body! If you ever have the chance to pop into their store on Carnaby Street, London then I highly recommend you do. There are so many fun accessories and shoes in there even if you don't manage to find something that fits. Monki is also stocked on ASOS which is great if you have their Premier service as it means you can use their free delivery service.

I'm also the biggest Vagabond shoe fan and it's normally the white ones that I'm drawn to but seeing as I have about a million pairs of white shoes I thought I'd branch out a little! I treated myself to these tan boots as I really wanted the comfort of a Vagabond shoe but a brown ankle boot, as it's far more appropriate for the outfits I'm wearing at the moment. Not that dressing appropriately has ever really been that important to me!

The White Company | Scented Candles & All things Christmassy

A surprise package arrived this morning and when I saw it was from The White Company I was SO confused! Had I done a spot of drunk late night, online shopping? Did a secret admirer know my address and know I have a "thing" for all things homeware? Well, after opening it and seeing that it was a candle; I knew it was from my favourite lady ever, my Mummy.

When the cold, dark nights draw in; my Mum fills absolutely every room in our family home with candles. She takes such pride in making our house feel so warm and homely and it's definitely rubbed off on me. When I was younger I wasn't fussed by candles or diffusers but as I've gotten older; I have become obsessed and my collection could definitely rival my Mums!

This gorgeous Mulled Wine Candle (which smells absoloutly incredible FYI), inspired me to have a look on the White Company website and I was pleasantly surprised. I had always associated them with rather bland white linen table clothes but after 5 minutes of browsing, my online basket was fully stocked!

Have a peek at what caught my eye and at the things that have helped me cross off lots of names from my Christmas list! Christmas shopping made easy!

Khaki Season

I am often asked what it is that inspires me when it comes to my fashion choices and one of my biggest inspirations comes from looking at other bloggers; no matter their size and taking aspects of their outfits and making them my own. When I saw Chloe in this khaki dress, I instantly fell in love! She looked perfect in it and it's such a sophisticated dress! I was gutted when I saw that it was out of stock but thankfully ASOS Curve restocked it and I nabbed one straight away.

Khaki is a perfect colour for this time of year and looks so good paired with tan and berry colours. I love the tie waist, open neckline and the length is perfect for me as I like my dresses to fall just below the knee. I think this is going to become a firm favourite for me.

This is such a photo-heavy post but I am in love with all these shots. I love how Catherine captures me and I found it so hard to edit it down to a only a few shots!

It's t(hat) time of year again

Humid weather. Check.
Constantly raining. Check
Dry winter hair. Check!

All these things lead me to thinking that hats are the way forward! Taking a trip round the *online* shops, and I've put together a selection of my faves! Hats are something I have always loved but as of yet I am yet to find my favourite style. What do you think of these beauties and can you offer me any advice for which styles you think would suit me best?

Monochrome Part III

The final instalment of my monochrome series and probably my favourite look out of all of them. I wore a similar version back in September but I didn't blog about it; so I thought I'd spruce it up and show you this sassy version.

For simplicity, I tend to wear a dress when I go out but when I saw this lace top and this faux leather skirt I thought they were a match made in heaven and a lovely nod to the Victoriana trend I covered a while back here. Wearing separates like this could be a nice update to your usual going out wardrobe but you could also give it a casual twist with patent brogues and a fluffy cardigan.
