Baby Blue PVC

Don't you just love Sundays? They are always better when you don't wake up with a hangover and you can get out and about and make use of the day. I started off the day by going for brunch with my best friend and we wandered around my local area in the sun.

I have had this pvc skirt hanging in my wardrobe since I went to Manchester and Simply Be kindly gifted it to me to review but I've only just got round to picking the perfect items to wear it with. I sized up in this style and I was right to! I definitely recommend you doing the same thing. I wanted to style it in a slightly 60s kind of way so I thought I'd get my trusty *white chunky sandals and my new *mesh sleeved jersey top out. I accessorised with round frame sunnies from Boohoo and my gorgeous grey shoulder bag from H&M. I normally drench my outfits in jewellery but I wanted to keep this outfit quite clean and minimal looking.

How I'd style...

Week four of my How I'd Style feature and I'm focusing on these grey sweat pants from Zizzi which you can buy from Navabi. Bex, one of my Instagram followers contacted me and told me:

"I love the whole sports luxe trend that is about at the moment and love these tracksuit bottoms but I'm worried I would look too sloppy in them and I'd look like I was in pjs. Is there a way to make them more glam?"

What do we think of this combo then? I reckon there is a good balance of glam and casual here. This is the type of outfit I'd love to wear on a Sunday if I was catching up with my girls or doing a bit of retail therapy. Stylish Sundays are the best! I would tuck the front of the jumper in to the sweat pants and I really love the mesh panels on the sleeve. I've actually got this jumper and can't wait to wear it - for an accident prone person, I keep buying white things...is this wise haha?

Bex, I hope you like this outfit and I have given you some food for thought.

Loving Lovedrobe

We are slowly entering my favourite time of year; it's still sunny and crisp but you don't bake alive on the tube. Hopefully we will have a lovely long Autumn as it's my fave season but before I wish Summer away totally, I thought I'd get some wear out of my lovely *Lovedrobe floral skater skirt.

I spent a girly day with my friend Karen and thought I'd wear something super feminine and this floaty, pink, floral dress is about as feminine as you can get! With Lovedrobe dresses I normally have to size up and this dress is no exception. I sized up to a 22 and it was a great fit. The sleeves were a teeny-weeny bit tight but I spent the whole day in it and it didn't irritate me so all's well that ends well!

I fancied getting my pins out and wore my chunky strap sandals and my old Topshop rucksack. The necklace got it's first airing and I love how well it matches with the colours in the dress. I picked it up in the Topshop sale for £12 - have a look in your local store if you like it because they had lots left, in different colours.

Wedding time

I have been so fortunate this summer and have had the chance to attend some beautiful weddings. Last weekend one of my closest friends, Lauren married her lovely man, Scott and I was honoured to be there to share it with them. They both looked absolutely incredible and cried on a number of occasions - you can see how happy they make each other and that fills my heart till bursting point!

The outfit I wore came together over a few weeks and I'm officially in love with the dress. I've featured it here on the blog a few times and I felt really special in it. I sized up by one size due to the dress not having any stretch. It is roomy all over though and is a good length. Under the dress I wore a Curvy Kate bra called Princess (in nude) and it kept everything in place all day and it was really comfy. I wore these wide fit heels to a previous wedding (in black) and they were SO comfy I bought them in this light blue colour and they matched perfectly with the dress. I've just noticed they do them in silver so I will definitely be getting those as well! The comfiest high heels I have ever worn - I swear to you! The necklace is from my fave brand Galibardy but it broke after a few hours but luckily my friend fixed it so it was still wearable. You can see from the pics that one of the flowers is hanging off :(
The clutch bag was a sale purchase from New Look a few months back and it was big enough to fit all my crap in it!

Here are a few snaps to show my outfit and makeup, what do you think of the outfit? Would you wear something like this to a wedding?

How I'd style...

Here we are again ladies, another week and another How I'd Style... post. This week the focus is on this striped dress from Forever21+. I bought this dress a few weeks back which prompted one of my readers to also buy the dress. Kara sent me the link to the dress and said:

"The dress I bought after I saw your blog. I haven't been really able to wear dresses for the past 2 years as I gained so much weight and felt too self conscious. I want to stop hiding behind jeans and dress in what I want and look good"

Let me just start off by saying that you can wear dresses at any size and shouldn't be put off by them. I live in dresses as they actually make me feel more feminine then trousers do. This dress is a really good length as it isn't too short but if you have problems getting your legs out, you could wear this with leggings and it would still look great. I've styled it with blue, tan and orange accessories - I love pairing stripes with orange and tan. I could have gone down the nautical (red, white and blue) route but I thought that seemed a little too obvious. I did pay homage to the trend though by using a bag that has rope handles. You can click on every other image and it'll take you to the correct website, except the bag which can be found here.

Slick on some orange lippy and wear with navy nails and you're good to go!

What do you think? How would you have styled this dress?

How I'd style...

Last week I started this weekly feature and I asked you lovely lot to get in contact if you liked a certain piece of clothing but didn't quite know how to style it. Lots of you got in contact and sent me lots of pics but I thought I'd go with a request from a follower called Karen. Karen sent me this:

"I recently bought this dress from Simply Be to wear to a wedding and love it to pieces BUT, I am struggling to find something to cover my arms (I feel so self conscious with them on show) and what shoes/bag would match? I have black accessories but it just doesn't look quite right, please help!"

After styling this dress, I actually want to go out and buy the whole lot! The jacket is not from a plus size range unfortunately but I discussed Karens size with her and the jacket it totally suited to her. I think this particular jacket would be a perfect wedding cover up, you could also wear a light throw or bolero if you thought that a jacket would make you too hot. This is a really feminine outfit and I hope you love it as much as I do! If you like any of the pieces, click on the pink boxes and it'll take you directly to the correct website. (The earrings are from Zara and are available here)

Violeta plus size jewellery

Earlier in the year high street store Mango launched their plus size range, Violeta. I have yet to buy anything but the collection appears to be made up of classic shapes, sophisticated prints and quality fabrics. I was having a browse yesterday and noticed that they have a plus size jewellery range. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. Mango isn't somewhere I would normally think of when hunting for jewellery or even accessories in general but after seeing these beauties - I will definitely be bookmarking their site.

What makes this range seem more appealing is their price points. In comparison to some competitors I think they are great. If you hover over any of the items you like and click, it'll take you directly to Mangos website!

Crop circles

Before we start, I just have to tell you this post has nothing to do with crop circles. I'm wearing a crop top but that's as far as it goes really.

It's so muggy here in London at the moment so I've been getting my legs out most days; I can't believe how far I've come. I never, ever used to get them out as I was so self conscious of them but as long as I'm wearing a midi length I honestly don't give it a second thought. I really urge you to get them out if you have previously kept them under wraps. I know I've spoken about this a few times here on the blog but it's something I feel really strongly about. When it's hot out and everyone else is flashing the flesh, why can't you join them?

I bought this skirt from Primark a few weeks back so hopefully if you can get to a store you'll spot one if you've taken a liking to it. It's a size 20 but it doesn't have an elasticated waist so keep that in mind.
I've worn this crop top in a previous blog post (here) and I really love them. It's from Forever21+ and they are dirt cheap. I like that they don't ride up so you know you won't accidentally flash the underneath of your boobies at people! The print is so bright and in your face I wanted to pair it with a black basic top but I couldn't resist wearing my new tassel necklace from New Look to jazz it up. The bag is such a lovely colour and I think chartreuse and fuchsia pink is one of my fave colour combinations! I bought it from H&M a few months back after spotting it in a store in Amsterdam. I'm wearing even more colour on my face, this Depraved lipstick from Makeup Revolution is so good. I posted about it previously (here) and I still need to get to the shop to buy some more shades as for £1 they are such good value for money!

Last but not least, you may have noticed I have a love for white shoes and I've been living in those white high heeled plimsolls... well I went and bought these black ones as they are now in the sale and are dead comfy. They are only £18 now reduced from £38 which is such a bargain.

I adore this lipstick! It's called Depraved by Makeup Revolution

How I'd style...

I thought I'd start a feature here on the blog where I show you guys how I'd style a particular piece of clothing. What do you think?

First up is this insanely bright neon pink beauty from ASOS Curve. I love the floaty fabric, the insane colour and the embellishments. I've not seen this in the flesh but it says on the site that it is neon and I bet it's cracking in real life. From what I can see, the embellishments are a mixture of blue and silver so I thought I'd incorporate those colours into the accessories. I'm loving the clash of snake skin print on the shoe and I think the holographic clutch ties it all together. I'd definitely wear this outfit to a wedding.

I thought I'd run this feature once a week and get you guys to send in pics of things online and I could help you style it by showing you what I'd team with it? Email me at danievanier@gmail.com for a chance to have your item featured.

How would you style this dress?

A forgotten gem

This dress is one of those slinky jobbies that slips off the hanger and falls down the back of your wardrobe and you forget about it for a billion years. I spotted it hiding at the back and thought I'd give it an airing for a day out with my bestie, Bobbi.

It's a really old ASOS Curve shirt dress and I've been meaning to alter the sleeves on it ever since I got it but after it went into hiding I forgot about the odd length of them. I still want to get them taken up as I find them a little too long but I bloody love this dress.

My necklace is also an old purchase from H&M but I spotted one in my local store today so you might still find the odd one hanging around. The cream bag, that you can hardly see is from Primark.

Yup, I'm wearing the shoes... again.

Sadly this ASOS Curve Shirt dress is a few years old now

A wonderful wedding

Last weekend I went to Stratford-Upon-Avon to celebrate the marriage of two of my good friends, Ray and Chetin. I must say, it was the perfect day. The sun shone so bright for them and they both looked so happy for the entire day!

Ray looked so beautiful and so happy all day long xxx
I hunted high and low for my outfit and decided on a whim to check out what House of Fraser had to offer. I instantly fell in love with this dress from Linea. I never imagined I would find something from this brand but in my opinion it is an immense dress. Linea only go up to a UK22 and I sized up to a 22 and I think that the fit is perfect on me. It's a ponte jersey material, so it's quite thick... I was rather hot at points through out the day but cooled off once we were inside out of the sun. I loved the length on me, it hit me just at my knee and I was able to wear my shorts underneath it so that I could get my tanned pins out.

Don't forget about Linea as they go up to UK22
Epic photobomb by the Groom!
The shoes.... now the shoes were a god sent! They are wide fit heels from New Look and I stayed in them from 1pm to 4am the following morning. Erm, hello...how hardcore is that! I stood up all day in them, danced my ass off at the wedding and then I even went out dancing in town after the wedding finished! I can't recommend these shoes enough. I am definitely buying the light bluey/grey pair for the next wedding I am attending in three weeks.

My clutch is from American Apparel and was quite pricey but I saved on the dress as it was in the sale and I know I will use it time and time again. It fit all my stuff in it - even those little fold up flats shoes that I didn't even end up wearing. I was very colour coordinated with this outfit! I chose to have a pinky coloured bag to bring out the dirty pink in the print of the dress and then I chose green nail varnish (*Wahiki Matte varnish by Barry M) for my finger nails and *Pink Gelly Hi Shine for my toe nails , a neon green bangle (old Topshop) and green/pink earrings from ASOS. Very matchy matchy but I love the overall look. Happy wedding Danie face.

With some of my girls - I love how colourful we all are!
