New plus size brand | Ellipsus

As you know one of my favourite things about blogging is introducing you lovely lot to new brands. When Ruth from Ellipsus followed me on twitter last year, her account caught my eye as she promised beautiful clothes, made in the UK dedicated to plus size ladies. I was really thrilled when she got in contact a few weeks ago and let me know her site had launched and Ellipsus was in full swing.

I instantly went to have a look at the website and I wasn't disappointed. Firstly, I was greeted with the beautiful face of Felicity Hayward who I think really suits the image of the brand. I love the layout of the website and how the clothes look on Felicity. This first collection is small, but well formed. A selection of tops, bottoms, dresses and jackets. When Ruth asked if I'd like to review a few items I instantly gravitated towards the Helene Marble Print Dress as I'm a big dress fan but I also thought I'd give the Olivia Trouser a go as well (I will blog about these another day)

Although the dress isn't silk, the quality and feel of it is really very nice. I sized up as I thought it might come up small but in fact it actually is a bit big for me. I like my sleeves to be a bit shorter so I've rolled them up in some of the photos but I reckon if I had gone with my normal size it would have been just fine. The marble print is just so perfect. You guys know I'm a big print fan and although I love fun, bright prints - sometimes you want a beautiful, sophisticated jobby and this dress fits the bill perfectly.

I kept my shoes and accessories quite simple with this look and I wore my boohoo+ leather jacket, Topshop chelsea boots, Zara bag and a lovely necklace from the girls at Impulse PR.

Be sure to check Ellipsus out and let me know what you think.

Missguided+ is here!

You may have read recently on my twitter/facebook that Missguided were due to launch a plus size collection and they have! It dropped today and it runs in UK sizes 16-24. The collection offers a mixture of basic pieces and trend lead options and I'm glad to see A/W14 staples like faux fur, co-ords and velvet in the mix.

I had a vision of what their first collection would be like and I don't think I was far off. The price points seem very reasonable and I am happy to see that items that Missguided sell in their main range are also available to us plus size ladies. The one complaint I have is in regards to the sizing. I am lucky to be able to fit into this range but what about the bigger ladies that wear a 24+? I wish the sizes ran up to a 30/32 as it is great that there are now more plus size collections on the market BUT it would be soooo much better if these collections catered for the bigger girls as well. I really hope that as the collection grows that so does the size range.

Here are a few of my favourite picks from their Missguided+ Collection:
Longline Khaki Duster Jacket available here
Oxblood Velvet Wrap Dress - available here
Red Faux Fur Gilet - available here
Co- ord top - available here
Co -ord skirt available here
Co -ord crop top available here
Co -ord skirt available here

Model name T-shirt in white available here

What are your thoughts on this new collection. Are you happy to know we now have another brand to shop with and think that it's a step in the right direction or are you disappointed to hear it only runs up to a UK size24?

That Day | Longline Rose Print Shirt

I recently featured a mustard dress from That Day and it went down a storm with everyone I showed or wore it in front of. That Day is the latest edition to The Brand Edit at Evans and all three of the dress they sent are really very nice.

I have come down to Devon to have a bit of family time and I packed this longline shirt dress as I knew it wouldn't get all creased in my weekend bag and I was right. No matter how scrunched up it gets, it doesn't crease....this is a definite plus if you're like me and detest ironing! I sized up in this style as I normally struggle with shapes like this that have no stretch. I normally wear a 20 but went up to a 24 and this means that the dress doesn't gape open at the buttons and it doesn't cling on my belly - perfect!
I love the design details that make this longline shirt a little different from others. The panel at the back, round neckline and splits at the side make it feel like an expensive garment. I've rolled up the sleeves (like I do with most long sleeve items) but the sleeves are long and you can button them up.

I feel like being in the countryside this week has really inspired my look today! I wore my old tan brogues from Clarks, my mums clutch bag and an old zara necklace which I might just have to nab...do you think she'll notice if it goes missing?!

Lastly, I thought I'd tell you about my new lippy which in no. 512 and from Kiko. I recently popped into one of their stores and they were having a sale so I picked up a few new shades. I've wanted a rich, plummy red for a while and this one is perfect.

My Top 12 Lipsticks

A bold lip is one of my favourite things and I don't feel ready to face the day without a slick of colour on my lips.

I often get asked what my favourite brands are and seeing as I wear so many different colours, I thought I would put a post together to show you all.

Click on the lipsticks and you'll be directed to the correct website. (The only ones you cannot do this for are the Diego Dalla Palma 194 on row 2, Kiko Taupe on row 3 and Makeup Revolution Depraved on row 4)

One thing is for sure....I bloody love a selfie ;)

What do you think? What's your fave colour on me and have I tempted you to try out a new shade/brand?

Treat Yo' Self | ASOS Curve

I've not been browsing on the internet as much recently after a bit of a tough week but I logged on this morning to see that ASOS Curve have a 20% discount running and the code works across the entire range - including shoes and accessories. The code is PERFECTFIT, enter this at the check out. Don't take too long choosing your bits though - the offer ends on Tuesday.

After having a little look round the online shelves, I thought I'd show you my fave picks. Remember that when stores offer a discount it can be a perfect chance to treat yourself to that stand out piece but it is also a great chance to pick up those basics like strappy tops and tights. Those sort of items are so useful and we wear them everyday yet it always annoys me when I have to part with my money for them! ASOS Curve have heaps of tights, basics, leggings etc so don't forget them when you come to buy all those kinds of items.

Evans Party Wear | Bloggers Christmas Party Wear Edit

I've said it before and I'll say it again - starting this blog was one of the best decisions I've ever made and the opportunities it has given me are very impressive (in my opinion) and I am so proud of what I have achieved in a relatively short time. If you follow me on any of my social media platforms you will have noticed that I recently collaborated with Evans along with two of my best blogger babes Callie and George. Evans asked us to join them on set in their Style For Your Shape Studio and we spent the day talking all things party wear!

The party season is fast approaching and if you're anything like me there is nothing better than getting glammed up and party ready with your pals and heading out to a fancy event. Sometimes, it can be a bit daunting though... what do you wear? How do you make sure you feel confident and sexy? What do you wear if you're in the office all day and then heading to a party? All these questions can get you feeling anxious and sometimes it can make you end up dreading these social gatherings instead of getting all excited for them.

Cue, George, Callie and I! Evans asked us to pick some of our favourite party pieces from their Party Edit and show you how easy it can be to take a look from day to night and get you lovely lot party-ready!!

Take a look at the video below and let me know what you think. I had such a good day, we just laughed and laughed and the Evans team are always such a pleasure to work with. The fact I get to do things like this with two of my pals is also such a treat.

WATCH THE VIDEO HERE

So that's the video but now I thought I'd show you guys some of the behind the scenes shots that Evans and I took as well as some of the final photos. I love how they have come out and I really enjoy all three of my looks. They all give off totally different vibes yet I felt glam and sexy in all three.

That Day | New Plus Size Brand

If you're like me, you like to have options and thankfully the amount of plus size brands available to us are increasing constantly and I am excited to introduce you to a beautiful new brand called That Day - available to buy at Evans.

Their first collection has a mix of modern and vintage styles and includes floaty dresses, longline shirts and tops. The prints and colour palette of their first drop are perfect for this time of year and it's really nice to have another brand to stalk when I'm on the Evans website!

When an email popped up in my inbox offering me the chance to review some items I couldn't say no. I love being able to show you guys what's available and to show you new brands. They sent me three gorgeous pieces and the way they packaged them up really impressed me. I love when a brand take the effort to wrap things up beautifully and it made opening the parcel even more exciting!

Last week I spent the day with my Family, including my new teeny tiny niece, Eloise (omgggg she's SO amazing) and I chose to wear the gorgeous mustard dress. I sized up one size to a 22 and I would recommend you do the same if you like the dress. I am a massive fan of the sleeves - such a nice touch and something a little different. My Mum said it reminded her of a baby pink dress she had back in the 70s that had the same sleeves.
Mustard and grey is one of my favourite colour combinations and I knew I would be cold if I wore the dress on it's own so I paired it with my *grey eyelash knitted cardigan from Yours Clothing. That cardie is so good, it's like I'm permanently being cuddled when I wear it.

What do you think of my furry clutch bag, guys? I spotted another one on ASOS a while back but when I saw this cheaper one from New Look I had to snap it up. My black boots are from Topshop and I am wearing them constantly at the moment. I generally like to wear shoes that have heels on them and the heel on these isn't high so you can wear them all day and your feet don't hurt. My tights are old ones from Autograph at M&S and are a lovely Aubergine colour.

Well ladies, I hope you all take a look at what That Day have to offer, let me know what you think and I will be back soon to show you the other two styles I have hanging waiting for me in the wardrobe.
