Missguided+ is here!

You may have read recently on my twitter/facebook that Missguided were due to launch a plus size collection and they have! It dropped today and it runs in UK sizes 16-24. The collection offers a mixture of basic pieces and trend lead options and I'm glad to see A/W14 staples like faux fur, co-ords and velvet in the mix.

I had a vision of what their first collection would be like and I don't think I was far off. The price points seem very reasonable and I am happy to see that items that Missguided sell in their main range are also available to us plus size ladies. The one complaint I have is in regards to the sizing. I am lucky to be able to fit into this range but what about the bigger ladies that wear a 24+? I wish the sizes ran up to a 30/32 as it is great that there are now more plus size collections on the market BUT it would be soooo much better if these collections catered for the bigger girls as well. I really hope that as the collection grows that so does the size range.

Here are a few of my favourite picks from their Missguided+ Collection:
Longline Khaki Duster Jacket available here
Oxblood Velvet Wrap Dress - available here
Red Faux Fur Gilet - available here
Co- ord top - available here
Co -ord skirt available here
Co -ord crop top available here
Co -ord skirt available here

Model name T-shirt in white available here

What are your thoughts on this new collection. Are you happy to know we now have another brand to shop with and think that it's a step in the right direction or are you disappointed to hear it only runs up to a UK size24?

Club Tropicana

A dinky little post for you today. I am currently staying with my parents in Devon at the moment and only packed a few things to alternate throughout the week. One of those things is this beautiful Junarose bomber jacket that MS.SVG kindly gifted me a few weeks back.

I've been meaning to post about this jacket ever since I got it but I kept forgetting to take snaps of it but today I finally remembered and although I am not wearing an incredibly ground breaking outfit, I really do love this jacket and the way it livens up a basic outfit.

The jacket, unlike many other bombers is made out of cotton so it is lovely and light and cool. A lot of the bomber jackets I own are so synthetic that if I were to stand next to an open flame, I would definitely go up in smoke! You all know how much I love a print and this one is a beaut. I'm loving the colours in it and the fact that it isn't predominately black but a dark navy. The gold zip detail on the front is really nice and the way it wraps round the neck of the jacket it lovely.

I wanted the jacket to be the star of this outfit so I chose to wear it over a simple black swing dress from ASOS Curve, black leggings and my super comfy sandals from Simply Be. YEY to finally being able to wear my hair in a top knot again! I have missed wearing it like that since I got it all chopped off!! My lippy is a Kate Moss for Rimmel one and it's number 110 - a lovely pinky orange colour with a matte finish.

If you haven't checked MSSVG out, I highly suggest you do. They stock a number of fab plus size brands and I was super impressed with how my jacket was packaged up and sent to me. I think I want to try some Bandelettes from them next - have any of you ladies tried out this method of stopping the dreaded chub rub?

I love clothes

What an exciting day in blogging land!!! After getting caught up in some craziness on various social media channels in regards to plus size blogging, I decided to stick to what I do best(?) and put some fab clothes on and show you all that fat doesn't have to equal bland.

You all know by now that I like to stand out and what better way to do that than by wearing a garish print. This jacket just makes me feel so happy and I don't care what people say... clothes/fashion is what I am about. I live, breathe, eat fashion and if that makes me a shallow person, well I couldn't give a toss really. I might be shallow but I'll look like a fabulously dressed shallow person.

The black dress I wore underneath my crazy jacket also makes my heart sing. I do love my outrageous stuff but you can't beat a classic black dress. I like that the mesh sleeves turn a standard jersey dress into something a little more interesting and 'edgy'. In regards to fit, I got a 20. I would have ideally gone for a 22 as I thought it might be a bit snug, but sadly they had sold out of the 22. I'm wearing a slip underneath it to help smooth me out but as you can see from the photo, my belly outline is on show...it's quite a nice fit regardless so I'm ok with the fact it doesn't conceal ma bellllllly.

Thank the lord for Topshop, River Island, Office and New Look. These are pretty much the only shops I buy shoes from. I can't get enough of white boots/heels/sandals and I'm so glad they are readily available now a days. I bought my beloved white high heeled brogues about 3 years ago, and I've worn them to death as I just couldn't find any other white shoes I liked. They are in every shop now so I'm going to sell everything I have (including my soul) to make more funds so I can feed my white shoe addiction.

The clutch is actually my Mums and is an old Accessorize number, the white necklace is from Topshop and should still be available in store. My lipstick is my current favourite that I seem to wear most days and it's by Chanel.

Jacket - old River Island
Dress - Asos
Clutch - old Accessorize
Boots - Topshop
Lipstick - Chanel
Necklace - Topshop

I hope you have had a good day my loves, I know I've had a hilarious one and feel really energised. I love blogging, I love my readers and I love what this blog does for me and my confidence. I blog for YOU, the reader and myself and no one else.

Denim Daisy

Good afternoon all,

Such a sunny, glorious day isn't it?! It really does help to improve your mood, when the sun is pouring through your windows and warming up your pastey skin.

I popped up to London yesterday to meet my lesbian life parter Callie and we headed to the New Look HQ to try on clothes and drink prosecco and discuss our future project. Exciting times ahead guys so stay tuned for what we have planned!!

This is the outfit I decided to wear and I really enjoyed plodding around in such a springy outfit.
The *denim parka from Simply Be is such dream. I didn't know how much I wanted one until I saw it, if that makes any sense? Such a great in-between season type coat. I love the white cord toggle and the fact is has a hood.

The Topsy Curvy *daisy dress, which I have worn to death since acquiring it, is a perfect little swing dress. Very short on me but the parka stops everyone from seeing... ya know. Remember to size up in this style as it comes up quite small.

My necklace is an old Accessorize jobby and I love the mix of denim and neon. I think it suited the outfit rather well! I wore my really old, white brogues (standardly) and I bought this cute grey/blue bag from Topshop last year and it was suchhhhh a good buy. It goes with tonnes of outfits and I love that it's quite dinky but you can ram it full of your shite still. My blue ring is an old one from Primark and the sparkly one is an old Accessorize purchase. The bangle is an old gift from my mum. Aww, I do love my Mum.

I hope you all are enjoying your weekend, and making the most of the sunshine? What are you all up to?

Missing the boat.

In a previous post, back when I started blogging I talked about the fact that sometimes you watch a trend spread from the catwalk to main stream fashion; but that you admire it from afar and that you don't try it for yourself.

This is what I did with the whole crop top thing. I've seen post after post featuring fabulous fat bitches wearing crop tops, flashing some flesh and sticking their middle finger up to the fashion rules imposed on us. I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to try it but I'm SO chuffed that I have. I absolutely love how this outfit has turned out.

Don't stress yourself out if you "miss the boat" when it comes to trends. If it takes you some time to try it out for yourself then that's totally ok.

Skirt - c/o Topsy Curvy
Long sleeved crop top - c/o OneOneThree
Jacket - old Tesco
Heels - old M&S

Have you loved a trend and then watched it go by and thought "Shit, I'm too late, I'll look silly if I wear that now"?

*I hope you enjoy how orange my legs look. Tanned these bad boys but then the light, the poor quality pics and dodgy spray tan combined to make me look rather patchy!

Babydoll

I recently helped with the styling for OneOneThrees website and their AW13 collection. The collection encompasses a lot of the things I love. You must have noticed by now how much I love black and gold right? I'm instantly drawn to it and although I love bold colours and prints I always love dressing in black.

The girls over at OneOneThree very kindly gifted me this Faux Suede Babydoll and I absolutely love it. The fit, fabric, length and print are all doing great things to me. The dress is the priciest item in their collection but you get what you pay for. The fabric is thick and heavy and sits so well on your body. I love how the skirt kicks out at the waist and really defines my shape. The low, scooped neckline allows you to show some flesh in a classy way and you could add a chunky or even dainty necklace if you wanted to. I've chosen to wear a statement belt that I got yonks ago and chunky black boots that have a leopard print heel on them. The bangles are old gifts and the lippy is 'Cyber' by MAC.

Bangles - old gifts

OneOneThree recently showcased their new collection in a fashion show held in Angel, London. The show saw tartan, denim, a nod to punk/grunge & printed maxis coming down the catwalk. I tried to document the show but unfortunately the lights were so low and pointing directly at me that each time I went to take a picture you literally couldn't see anything. If you want to see some pics be sure to check out Ishas blog post.

Have you checked OneOneThree out before? What do you like from their current collection?

My nod to the 90s.

The 90s trend is alive and well at the moment and I have seen lots of bloggers, including my bestie, Callie looking fabbbbbulous in their 90s inspired looks. If you haven't already seen her two posts you can see them here and here.

I absolutely LOVE fashion and trends and enjoy updating my wardrobe every season with new items BUT I don't feel like I need to stick to trends just because they are "in". However, having said that I've been so inspired by this trend I knew I had to get an outfit together to show you that you can also tap into this particular trend. I used to dress like an extra out of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air so maybe I should do another outfit post inspired by that type of 90s look?

*Please note that when I uploaded my pics somehow it put this sepia tone onto them and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't remove it and I wasn't going to faff around in photoshop sorting it.  So, they kinda look a little tea stained. More grungey I guess?

The dress with its button down front and sunflower print, in my opinion is really 90s. The fit and flare shape is really lovely and kinda skims my belly and hips. I'm in mixed opinion about this jacket. I kinda hate it yet quite like it at the same time. The denim has a light wash and the knitted sleeves add a kinda "grungey" look to the whole outfit. I think the boots top of the look rather well. Oh, hang on... how could I forget my sun necklace?! Isn't it just amazing? When I saw it online I knew it would be perfect and instantly took me back to my school days. I really wanted a ying-yang one to wear at the same time as this one but I couldn't find one I liked online but I've since spotted this immense one on ASOS.

Have you tapped into this trend or are you leaving 90s fashion well behind you?

Pretty much the softest jumper you'll ever feel.

Hello gang!

So in amongst the craziness of moving back to London I have suddenly found the urge to do shit loads of outfit posts. I've been neglecting the blog and myself generally because I am so focused on the moving and everything associated with it but I've recently acquired lots of fab clothes and accessories so I wanted to show you all my goodies.

Today I wore the WORLDS SOFTEST JUMPER. This jumper is from Tesco and was super cheap and Mum actually picked it up for me whilst doing the weekly shop. I find Tesco clothing comes up a little small so I always size up. Mum chose a 22 for me and I think it's spot on. It's a boxy jumper and some might say it's not the most flattering but.....erm, I don't really care. It also comes in black and pink and you can see it here.

I wore this fluffy delight over my *Daisy print swing dress from Topsy Curvy. I sized up with this dress as it comes up quite small. It's definitely the sort of dress you wear over thick leggings or tights. You might show your lady bits if you bent over you see.

The necklace is a recent purchase from Topshop and it's rather sweet I think. My collection of pink things is steadily growing and this is the perfect addition. You can take a look at it here if you want to that is.

The tan high heeled brogues are from Clarks last year and I am still trying to break them in...not gunna lie, they aren't that comfy at the moment. I bought them because I am addicted to the ones from Office and when I saw these I thought they were great dupes. Hopefully the get better once they are broken in!

Finally a look at my makeup for today. I have been wearing this Chanel lippy every day. It's so soft on my lips and the colour is so vivid. It's called 'La Diva' and you can see it here.

I think I might live in this jumper. Seriously, go to Tesco and grope it.
Hope you are all having a good week and that you have a FABULOUS weekend.

*This dress was gifted to me for review

The OneOneThree AW13 collection. My first styling job.

What an honour to help style such a fab plus size brand.

OneOneThree run by the lovely Najma and Keenen is a small independent fashion design label with a focus on edgy, young, fashionable garments. Their mission is to produce clothes that are fashionable. When I speak to Najma, the designer she is clear about the fact she wants us fat ladies to be able to wear the types of clothing that are accessible to everybody else.

With two successful collections under their belt it was important that their AW13 lived up to expectations. In my opinion, it has.

I went to the OneOneThree studio to have a look at their pieces and I was instantly excited. From talking to the girls and getting my hands on the items I knew instantly how I wanted to style the shoot. I discussed my ideas with them and they were on board with everything I said. I left buzzing and my head was spinning with ideas of accessories that we should get our hands on and how we should do the models hair/makeup.

After a week of getting accessories together and finalising plans we met on the day before the shoot for a model fitting and a hair and makeup trial. We planned out how each model should look, who should wear what and how their hair and makeup should look.

The shoot itself was hectic! We had a lot to do in a short amount of time. Hair and makeup buckled down straight away and starting getting the models ready from the neck up. It was my job to then get them sorted from the neck down!

Each model had to be told what they were wearing and with what accessories and I helped get some of them into the more trickier garments/accessories.

Below shows you some of the accessories I took/we bought for the shoot! Bold, chunky, in your face accessories.

Once I had got the models into their outfits, chosen their accessories for them and directed the hair and makeup artist with what looks we wanted next; it was time to shoot!

Fuelled by some pizza and lots of juice we then stayed in the studio for a good few hours shooting each of the models.

I really enjoyed directing the models and suggesting to them what sort of poses they should do. Najma, Keenan and I gave the models direction, viewed the photos on the camera with the photographer before we moved onto the next look.

Here are a few shots from behind the scenes of the shoot. The models look so good doing their thing!

As you can see from the above photos we had a "no fucks given" kind of vibe to the shoot. We wanted the models to look fierce and hopefully you will agree with me that that is what we achieved.

Below are some of the final shots from the day and you can visit the OneOneThree site to see these garments in all their glory! They are for sale and I am excited to get my hands on some of them!

Use code 'sowhat10' to get 10% of your purchase.

What are your favourite pieces from the collection? Do you like the vibe of it and be honest with me, what do you think of the styling?
