I FEEL FANCY

We all have that one item of clothing that when we put it on; we feel like we can take on the world. This super old ASOS dress is my favourite dress and it never ceases to make me feel like a fancy nancy when I put it on.

This dress is from the main range and is a UK size 18. I find the ASOS Curve body cons come up a little big and can be a bit baggy on so if you fancy going for a dress like this, size down. My ethos is that not everything you wear has to be flattering, some times you want to wear that over size top or baggy T-shirt dress. With this dress I must admit I love how flattering the print is and how it seems to follow the shape of my body. Unfortunately this dress is not available online anymore but I've put together a selection of dresses below that mean you can create this look if you're into that sort of thing.

The accessories I wore are all old and out of stock but there are lots of similar shoes available online at New Look in the wide fit section and you can't beat Topshop for cute handbags.

For my makeup, I used Sleek Brow Kit on my big brows, Glam Eyes Eyeliner by Rimmerl and MUA Velvet Lip Lacquer in Criminal on my lips. Mwah xx

Makeup Revolution Scandalous Lipstick - Depraved.

I've been seeing this Makeup Revolution brand all over my Instagram for the last few weeks and their lipstick shades in particular caught my eye. They are so bright! I can't wear MAC lippies as I am allergic to them and I'm always on a look out for bright lipstick shades. It's sad I can't wear MAC as all their other products are fine for me to use but the lipsticks make my lips come up in a really sore rash - yuk!

I ordered this purple lipstick which is called Depraved and I love it. Er, it's £1.00 yes that's right...one whole pound. The packaging isn't the classiest packaging I have ever seen but for a £1.00 you really can't complain. It reminds me of the brand MUA which is also another super cheap, drugstore makeup brand. The one negative I'd say is that the lid doesn't seem to stay on very well so that may be a problem if you tend to chuck your lippies into your handbag. Hopefully as the brand grow, they will make their packaging a bit better.

Anyway, enough blabbing. It's a bright shade, goes on well and it's very pigmented! It's not drying at all and sticks around for a reasonable amount of time before you need to reapply.

Now that I have broken my Makeup Revolution virginity and it's not been a traumatic experience; I will definitely be stocking up on some more of this super cheap brand. Check out all their products here

A wee roundup of my week.

I seem to be doing an awful lot at the moment (I'm not complaining) but I need to get back into posting regularly as I've definitely been neglecting it. I always find time to get dressed up in nice outfits but now I don't have my Mum living with me (who used to take my outfit pics for me) I'm trying to get into the swing of asking my friends/housemate to take them for me when ever I am out and about with them. I think I need to invest in a tripod and take my own pics... is this something any of you other bloggers do?

Anyway, I thought I'd do a little post to show you all what I've been up to this week. I've had lots to smile about, caught up with lots of friends and done some lovely things so here goes!

On Monday, myself and a few other bloggers went to Westfield shopping centre for a day of trying on clothes in their new Collect+ Lounge, drinking cocktails and eating fabulous food. I will post about this at a later date as it was a brilliant day. But here's a little shot of me and some of the other blogger gals that joined me on the day.

Myself, Lauren, Emma and Elena
The beautiful Elena and I went for a drink before heading back to mine and we enjoyed a night in front of the telly eating frozen yogurt and I played with my new goodies that I treated myself to.

One happy lady with her Lemon Spritz
New Chanel lippy in 'La Favourite' and big flower earrings from River Island
On Tuesday before Elena got the train home we had a nice brekky and then I spent the entire day on the sofa watching Scandal and it was bliss.

It started off being a healthy smoothie but then we added croissants...oops!
On Wednesday I took the plunge and went to the hairdressers to have all (well a lot of) my hair cut off. the lengths had become dry and brittle and it was time for it to go. I went to Jones and Paynes in Shoreditch and my friend Craig did the chop! It is such a lovely little salon, it's won numerous awards and they treat you really well there. I was given cocktails and popcorn and the massage chair you sit in whilst having your hair washed was bliss! You've probably seen my new hair pics alllll over my Instagram and twitter but here is how my hair turned out. I LOVE it. I wasn't sure at first, I kept feeling like my security blanket had been taken away but I've gotten used to it now and I'm so happy with it. It feels so nice and thick and healthy!

In the evening my friend Cat came over for a Chinese takeaway and it was good to see her as I'd not seen her since moving back to London. I wore my new midi skirt from ASOS Curve and an old Primark crop top and I felt super cute. The skirt is really nice and I am contemplating buying the same one but in white.

On Thursday I headed into central London to meet my friend Jess who I used to go to school with and we sat in the sun, caught up, drank ice cold cola and it was a really nice afternoon. It's always good when you can pick up with a friend right where you left off, even if you haven't seen them in ages.

I decided to try ombre lips and used Revlon ColorBurst lip pencil in 'Audacious' in the centre and my bright pink Chanel 'La Diva' on the outsides
After that I headed to Liberty for a REN Skincare masterclass. The night was held up in one of the treatment rooms and we were welcomed into the room with Prosecco, green juices and healthy nibbles. The evening was really nice and informal, full of giggles and very informative. I have recently rejigged my skincare routine and now use a lot of REN products and my skin really does thank me for it! We got to test lots of the products out, watch them being used on a real like human being, you could have a mini facial, a chat with a nutritionist and the goody bags were filled with samples and bits to take home with us. I think I will do a new skincare routine soon as since my last one, I have learnt SO much about how to look after your skin and you can really see a difference in how it looked a few months a go.

I wore an old River Island jacket, breton stripe dress from New Look Inspire, old Topshop bag and old Zara necklace.
On Friday my lovely friend Teeny came over to my house and we made pizzas together and stuffed our faces. I hadn't made pizza bases before but after realising how easy they are to do I think I will be making them again in the future. It was really nice to have a gossip, eat tasty food and slob in front of the telly.

Saturday was a really nice a productive day. In the morning my housemate and I sorted my little garden out. The grass had gotten out of hand and it all needed a little TLC. This wore me out! I need to realise that in my head I am all go, go, go but my Fibro makes me slow, slow, slow. I spent the rest of the day chilling out before my two friends Ray and Jo came over. Ray is a domestic goddess and said she would come over and cook a few things with me to freeze for days when my Fibro is too bad and means I can't be arsed to cook anything. We made Ratatoue, lentil bake, Cauliflower bread, tatziki, salad and turkey burgers. We washed the lentil bake down with Spritz' my new favourite drink! Prosseco and Aperol...what a bloody beautiful concoction. Please try one if you haven't already!

I straightened my hair for the first time since getting it cut on Wednesday and I think I might prefer it more than curly! I also used my grey Kiko lipstick which looked great with my neon coral top that I recently bought from George at Asda and my little name necklace from Topshop.

Well there we go guys, nothing ground breaking happened but I was out and about a lot and had a really nice time so it really lifted my spirits! It's so good to be back in this city.

Summertime bronzing sessions

Hello ladies,

Well I said things would be pretty quiet here on the blog and as you can tell by my lack of posts - I wasn't lying!!

I have so many lovely clothes I want to show you but what with me moving house and getting settled back into London life, I haven't had a lot of time to get proper outfit pics done sadly.
I did however want to just do a quick beauty post showing you two new purchases that I am absolutely in love with.

For as long as I can remember I have always worn a pinky coloured blusher on top of my bronzer and both products have mostly come from either MAC or Estee Lauder. I recently went shopping with my Mum whilst she was here in London though and I bought a new bronzer and blusher and I really love how they both look together.

Wearing no "colour" on my cheeks compared to the bright pinks I've worn in the past was a little daunting for me at first but I have been alternating between my pinks and this more bronzed look and I love it!! I feel like it makes me look all bronzed and ready for the summer months that are ahead of us.

The bronzer is from Pixi, a brand I hadn't bought since I was a teenager. I went in to pick up a bottle of the Glow Tonic that everyone has been raving about and their Beauty Bronzers caught my eye. The packaging is beautiful, it comes with its only little Kabuki brush (which is sooooooo soft) and the colour is a really rich golden brown. There are three shades to pick from but I chose the darkest one called Summertime and although the brush is lovely, I prefer to use a bigger bronzer brush so that the colour is more evenly distributed. I don't use bronzer everywhere on my face but mostly on my cheeks, forehead and down my nose.

The second product I got was this really nice peachy/golden blush from Make Up Store. They have an array of beautiful coloured blushers but this particular one called Passion caught my eye and I am so glad I decided to try it. It gives a lovely highlight effect and combined with the Pixi bronzer it looks like I've just got back from a holiday in Spain! I picked this up in their store in Carnaby Street and the staff were really helpful and polite in there which is always a bonus of buying in store as a posed to online.

What do we think girls? Should I stick to what I know best (insanely bright pinks) or do you reckon this is a good look for me? Are you a fan of these two brands?

Fix up, look sharp

So it's no secret that I like makeup, I like buying makeup and I that I like to trowel said makeup all over my face. I have my basics that I use everyday and then I like to switch certain things up cos, well... I'm crazy like that. Urgh, I really dislike when people call themselves crazy.

I think I'd like to introduce more makeup posts on my blog as it's something I have always enjoyed reading about, using and experimenting with. I have religiously made my face up since I was about 14. At first it was just mascara, blusher and eyeliner but then boy did things switch up a level when I found Mac 'Studio Fix Fluid'. That was it then, I became addicted to Mac and addicted to creating a flawless finish to my makeup.

I will do a proper post in the future detailing all the products I like to use but here's a look at some of the gems I have recently bought, some regulars and also some new additions.

At first I used 'Studio Fix Fluid' by Mac but once they introduced this 'Pro Longwear SPF 10 Foundation' (shown above) I didn't look back. I use it pretty much every day unless I fancy a BB Cream day and I love the finish it gives me. A lovely matte finish and the coverage is great. You can build up until you get the desired look and its staying power is fab. I use the shade 'NC15' and it's a great match to my skin tone.

Below is my most favourite item of makeup in the whole wide world. It's by Mac and you probably all use it/know about it but I just wanted to declare my love for it publicly. 'Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation' goes everywhere with me and I probably buy it every 4/5 months. This shade is 'NC15' (the same shade as my liquid foundation) and I use it to set my foundation. It comes with a soft powder puff but I like to use a big bronzer brush to sweep it over my big fat face. I use this powder throughout the day when I've become a bit shiny looking, predominantly across my T-zone.

Next up are three new gems that I bought whilst in Exeter and Manchester airports on Monday. I bought the two varnishes together and I cant remember the exact prices (really helpful I know) but I think they were about nine quid each in duty free but you can buy OPI in loads of places (also exceptionally helpful)

I wanted a classic red so went with 'Big Apple Red' and I am slightly addicted to all things holographic at the moment so when I saw 'I Snow You Love Me' I had to get it. I can't wait to use them both. OPI varnishes apply so well and they don't get all clumpy and shitty.

LOOK AT THAT LIPPY THOUGH..... Perfection. Chanel you sexy beast you. The packaging always gets me. It's sleek, modern and I love how you click the bottom of it and the lid releases so you can wind the lipstick up. This 'Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet' lipstick comes in loads of different colours but this shade 'La Diva' is from their Spring 14 range. It's a beautiful lippy, it's so velvety smooth and it has a really light matte finish to it.  It cost just over £20 in duty free but it is normally priced at approx £25 in Boots.

Pretty gross seeing my hand up close. Think I need to moisturise more. Don't judge me.

And finally there is this little beauty below. I normally religiously use Macs 'Gentle' or 'Dolly Mix' blushers but I saw this Bourjois blusher called 'Bourjois Little Round Pot Blusher' whilst perusing the aisles of Boots and decided to throw caution to the wind and buy it. I bought it and I like it and I am very much looking forward to using it. I won't be using the little brush that comes with it though. No thanks, I'll stick with my normal blusher brush. The end.

I hope this post was interesting? I'm not sure it was but..well it's too late really. I'm publishing it.

Smoked Chrome

Just a wee post showing the latest nail varnish to join my crew.
I have a few Estée Lauder varnishes and they are really very nice.

This particular one called 'Smoked Chrome' is so so lovely. The colour is really rich, there is a slight shimmer to it and I only needed one coat. When you apply it the varnish doesn't dry straight away giving you time to smooth over any ridges and create a nice flat finish.

Now I know that these varnishes apply so well I will definitely be buying some more shades in the future. I highly recommend these ladies! Take a look at the other colours they have here.

Not the neatest of paint jobs but it'll do!

What do you think of this colour ladies?
I loveeee nail varnishes, you can never have enough! What are your fave brands?

Finding your perfect red.

I'm forever on the hunt for that perfect red lippy. It's got to be that pillar box red, not too pinky, not too much blue in it, stays on your lips for a good amount of time and doesn't transfer onto the rest of your face/teeth/outfit.

I'VE FOUND MY PERFECT RED!!!!

I sadly can't wear MAC lippies any more as they make my lips sore so I am having to branch out from my usual Lady Danger/Diva/Ruby Woo faves and find new favourites. I'm obsessed with my new Clarins one. It's called Clarins Red and it's beautiful. Really pigmented, stays put and is shiney but not too shiney it slides off your face!!

Here's a pic of me wearing it and a swatch of it so you can see how it looks. Love, love, love it.

I have a tonne of lipsticks, like hundreds and I probably have about 30 different reds but what is your favourite red lipstick... I'm always open to new suggestions. I think I want an Illamasqua one next and a Nas one.
